ABOUT

Solitary Be started as a series of jams between old college friends, and developed into something more powerful and beautiful. The indie pop-rock set up from Brighton, UK, started as a covers band "The Dirty Covers", and gigged in Brighton, small festivals and Brighton Student Union.

With the bassist and drummer leaving the band, remaining members Will Coupland (Lead vocals, rhythm guitar) and John G (Lead guitar, violin, vocals) decided to develop their own sound and Will got to work writing. Within a few months they were gigging as an acoustic 2-piece, which progressed as the band grew.

In 2016 Dan Staley joined up as bassist as the band developed their music and style, producing heavy rock songs, pop ballads and stadium anthems. With the offer of two larger festival gigs, the band introduced renowned Brighton drummer Jimmy Guest.

Having played a series of Brighton gigs, Solitary Be played an extended set at Brighton's 'Spring In The Patch' festival in April 2016, and played the highlight of their live career so far in July, support headlining the Lower Stage at Patchfest 2016.

Solitary Be released their debut EP: 'The B.E.P.' in July 2017, mixing some old favourites with a couple of their newest songs. This was followed up in December by the release of their single "Kim and Donald", a folky rock song pleading to Donald Trump not to ruin the world, and a second single in March "Sweet Release", a euphoric alt rock anthem.
